Dhikala Forest Lodge

Dhikala is more than just a safari zone; it's an opportunity to witness and appreciate the richness of India's wildlife heritage in one of its most pristine settings. With its dense forests, open grasslands, and rich biodiversity, Dhikala represents the true spirit of Jim Corbett National Park. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, photographer, or nature lover, a visit to Dhikala is an experience that promises to captivate and inspire. By immersing yourself in this beautiful wilderness, you contribute to the conservation of Corbett's legacy and the protection of its unique inhabitants.

Safari Experience in Dhikala

The safari experience in Dhikala is unique compared to other zones in Corbett due to its size, diversity, and exclusivity. The zone offers jeep safaris and canter safaris, both of which allow visitors to explore the core forest areas and open grasslands.

Jeep Safari: The jeep safari in Dhikala is one of the most exciting ways to explore the forest. Guided by experienced naturalists and drivers, jeep safaris take place twice a day — early morning and late afternoon. The smaller vehicle size allows for more personalized wildlife viewing, and visitors often encounter various species up close. Jeep safaris are available only to guests staying inside the Dhikala Forest Lodge, adding to the exclusivity of the experience.

Canter Safari: Unlike jeep safaris, canter safaris are open to day visitors and offer a larger group experience. The canter safari is conducted in an open-top vehicle and is led by an experienced guide and driver. This option allows visitors who are not staying in Dhikala to explore the area and witness its wildlife.

Elephant Safari: Although less common than jeep or canter safaris, elephant safaris were traditionally a popular mode of exploring the dense forest areas. However, due to conservation concerns, the elephant safari is now more restricted, focusing on reducing environmental impact.
